Painting Colorado
The challenge of painting Colorado is the vivid greens, and the high altitude. The beauty is overwhelming. You can stand in front of your canvas looking out and not know where to start. Here are two of my favorite spots. The top scene is looking down into Boulder at the Flat Irons and the rolling hills. The other is in the Rocky Mountain National Park, where even with the lower water levels there are still streams everywhere. The shows at the Earthwood Galleries in Estes Park and in Boulder are going great with a good turnout and sales. My van has wet canvas's with lots of starts and a few completed pieces. Working in gouache as well and really enjoying that. So many lovely old barns and corrals, leavings of a time gone by.
